The exhibit opens May 2, 2016; opening reception will be held from 5-7 pm on Friday May 6th with the show closing on May 27th.

    Til next time.

  • Studio

    Studio

This is a seldom seen moment from my studio while I was working. My process is so incredibly personal. Its therapy, Its me, vulnerable and stripped of all restrictions. Having anyone enter those moments changes the work completely.

I have made several attempts at allowing others into my space as I work. the results are typically unnatural and uncomfortable.

This moment in this photo is a moment I was allowed to be revealed. I had control of the content and when it was presented.

I hope you enjoy and more to come.

  • Updates

As you may have noticed some website changes have occurred. Changes are positive.

I will also be posting some of my pieces at Saatchi Art (saatchiart.com), so head on over there and check out the site. Some really great original artwork. Shop local, shop living artists.

I'm also on Twitter, follow me @mona_wiley for some real time updates from the studio as well as witty insight into being an artist.

    Until next time, stay creative!

    Mona

  • Changes

I apologize for the absence from the site. New changes are happening. I will be posting updates shortly.

  • Been some time..

It has been a while since I last posted to the website. I have been incredibly busy. I have been working on a new series. A much more emotional series of work. I will be posting the new stuff to the website in a few more months (I wouldn't really trust that time line, i am an artist after all, and truly have no concept of time).

  • Judy Chicago

While in Washington D.C. on October 24th (2010) I visited the National Museum of Women in the Arts (which some day will be a location where you can find my work). I attended a lecture by the feminist artist Judy Chicago (The Dinner Party). She was speaking about her new book titled "Face to Face." This book concerns the work of Frida Kahlo the Mexican Artist.

It was a nice treat to see this amazing woman speak about another truly amazing woman. These women are inspirations to me and my work.

  • Opening Reception and Gallery Tour

Thank you to everyone that attended the opening reception of the "If Picasso Drips, I drip" show.

I appreciate all the support from everyone that was there, as well as the individuals that couldnt make it but showed their support in other ways.

Thanks also to the individuals that came out to Ethnic Fest to watch the demonstration. I had a blast painting in the street. You can also see the "mark" I made on third ave. in front of the Bottleworks.

We made a video of the demonstration, so look for that to show up soon.

Thank you all again, til next time
